Draw Near To God

James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

In the first Creation, Jesus breathed life into the man and he became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) In the Upper Room on Resurrection Sunday, Jesus breathed into His Disciples the life of the Spirit. This was His Life. It was Life that conquered sin, death, Hell, the grave, and Satan. He was totally victorious over all this and Jesus breathed this Victorious Life into them that evening. This was the new creation.

When Jesus rose out of the tomb, He was totally Victorious! His life could not be defeated or destroyed. Satan had no power over Him or His Life. This is the Life He breathed into His Disciples. This is what we receive when we meet Jesus! This is the Victorious Life Jesus went to the Cross for us to have.

Every person who is truly born again has had a personal, face-to-face meeting with Jesus. Some people meet Jesus in a vision while others meet Him in a dream. It can also happen at the Altar of a church or anywhere for that matter. Many people meet Jesus in their car, in their bedroom, or outside in their garden.  The place is of no significance but the meeting is imperative for one to be saved, born again, and become the new creation.

It is not necessary to pray a certain prayer of salvation or perform any ritualistic practice at a church service. You don’t need to be baptized in water or become a member of a church or certain denomination. All that is necessary is to meet Jesus face to face and recognize Him for Who He is, What He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary, and believe that God has raised Him from the dead. (Romans 10:9)

The following is a quote from a well-known theologian: “You can join the church and not be changed. But you cannot meet Jesus and remain the same.”

To be born again is to be changed from the person you used to be. When this happens you will become the new creation we read about in the Word of God. Churches are full of people who have not been changed. Their weekly attendance in Church is not Salvation. Neither is their good works Salvation. They may make huge monetary donations to Church work but this will not guarantee their Salvation.

Salvation results in change. Salvation will transform the old creation into the new creation. Many things will change immediately while other things will take place over time, but there WILL be change. It is impossible to remain the same after having an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have never experienced this, today is the day of Salvation for you! Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)

Draw near to Him and He will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Drawing nearer,         Doreen
