Luke 24:53 and were continually in the Temple praising and blessing God. Amen.
The First Verse of the Second Chapter of the Book of Acts reads: And when the Day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Many people believe they were in the Upper Room, but due to the fact that it was the Day of Pentecost, most likely they were at the Temple at this time. This happened shortly after Jesus’ Ascension into Heaven. Luke also wrote about this in His Gospel. And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His Hands and Blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He Blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into Heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the Temple praising and blessing God. Amen. (Luke 24:50-53)
On this day, the Day of Pentecost, they were all together at the Temple and they were in one accord. They had heard Jesus tell them to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Promise of the Father. They were all there together waiting with great expectation of whatever that was. They did not know what was going to happen, but they knew it would be good!
This is the way every believer should be every day. For those of you who have not yet been baptized with the Holy Spirit, this is the Promise of Jesus to you just as it was to those gathered that day. You should be eagerly awaiting the Promise of the Father which is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
To live in a constant state of expectation is a good thing. When we truly believe God is going to work on our behalf, we expect something wonderful to happen. We expect favor on our lives. We KNOW God is for us and not against us. He who is for us is not against us and if God is for us, who can be against us? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
Yes, the enemy is against us and attacks us every day, but he doesn’t stand a chance against Almighty God! We have within us the Power of the Holy Spirit and the Power in the Mighty Name of Jesus! No demon of Hell can stand against this Power. They are no match for the Power we have.
Believe in God. Place your faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. EXPECT good things to happen. EXPECT God to Bless you and have Favor on your life. Many years ago, the Lord led me to Mark 11:24. These Words of Jesus have caused me to believe and EXPECT good things in my life. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
I believe God is for me. I believe God will have Favor on me. I believe God will keep me and sustain me. I believe God will protect me. I believe God will provide for me. I believe God is able to do anything and everything and He will do it for me. Therefore, I thank Him in advance for what I believe He will do. I EXPECT Him to do these things because He Promised me He would. I believe He keeps His Promises.
Living a life of faith and expectation will……….turn the tide
