Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

 

As we continue to dissect this Verse of Scripture, we find remission of sins to be the goal for the believer. To be set free from sin is what we all need and having faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary is the way to receive it.

 

There are groups of people (whole denominations) who teach that repentance is a sin. This is ridiculous and straight from the devil. To ignore the sin in our lives and claim that it does not exist will not set us free from it. If that were the case, we would have done it years ago. More importantly, Jesus Christ would not have had to suffer and die on the Cross of Calvary.

 

We must repent of sin to be set free from it, but we must also BELIEVE that Jesus conquered that sin on the Cross of Calvary. Repentance without Faith in Christ Crucified will not result in Deliverance. Everything about Christianity is based on our Faith in Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary. It was there that He conquered the power of the enemy in our lives.

 

God demands that we believe in His Son. He sent His Son to die for us; to be the Sacrifice He required for us to be set free from sin. If we don’t believe that, we are not even saved. As we discussed yesterday, Faith and Repentance go together. Faith in Christ Crucified will result in Repentance and that Repentance will result in greater and stronger Faith in Christ Crucified. The two together bring Victory over sin.

 

God made one Way for us to be Saved and set free from sin. That Way is through faith in His Son. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. (John 14:26) Paul wrote, For by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

 

The bottom line is this: God made A Way; One Way. There is no other way. We cannot do it ourselves. Psychologists and therapists cannot free anyone from sin. Pharmaceutical drugs do not bring deliverance. People spend thousands of dollars and untold numbers of hours pouring their hearts out to therapists with no results. They are no better off now than when they began.

 

Faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is the ONLY ANSWER to sin. Read the Word of God. Pray to God. Spend time with Him. Believe in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross. Repent of your sins and believe Jesus nailed them to the Cross on Crucifixion Day 2,000 years ago. Then, and only then can you know Victory in your life.

 

 

Faith in Christ Crucified will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
