Faith Obedience Humility

1 Kings 3:13 And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.

God not only gave Solomon what he asked for (understanding and discernment of spirits) he also blessed him with great riches and honor. All this was Solomon’s reward for being humble before God and not greedy.

Humility is one of the greatest characteristics of God’s people. God simply does not tolerate pride. It was pride that got Lucifer banished from Heaven. There are countless Passages of Scripture on this subject, many written by Solomon himself in the great Book of Proverbs, not to mention the Apostle Paul and Jesus in the New Testament.

Solomon’s actions after waking up from his dream are a reflection of his humility. He was King. He could have called all the people together and made a public speech about how great he was and that God had made him the wisest man on earth. He could have gone on to tell them all how God had also promised him riches and honor because he was the chosen one and the greatest of all time. However, Solomon did not do any of that. His response to God’s tremendous blessing was to go to Jerusalem and make offerings back to God.  After which, he prepared a feast for all his servants.

At that time, Israel was the most powerful nation on earth, and Solomon was King. In the natural, he had every reason to be proud but he knew everything he had was a blessing from God and it was all due to his belief and trust in the Sacrificial Redemption Plan God had put in place for His people.

This has not changed. Our faith must be totally in the Sacrifice of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. No other faith will do. Just as Solomon returned to the Ark of the Covenant and presented his offerings to God, we must return to the Cross of Christ and make our offerings of Praise and Thanksgiving for everything we have been blessed with. Without Him we are nothing.

The faith, humility, and obedience of Solomon were rewarded by God in a huge way. God still seeks this in His people today. This is the essence of the focal Verse of this daily Morning Message: 2 Chronicles 7:14  If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

We pray for the healing of our bodies, minds, families, schools, churches, communities, and country. God hears our prayers. He is able to grant us all this and more. We are God’s people. He has given us the Way. It’s up to us. Faith, Obedience, Humility. God demands all three.

He said, If my people......THEN…..I will……..turn the tide
