Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has Blessed us with every Spiritual Blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
The jailer asked, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? (Acts 16:30) To this question, Paul and Silas answered “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be Saved.” (Acts 16:31) The jailer came to the understanding that he was a spiritually lost man. He knew that he was a sinner in desperate need of a Savior. He admitted that he was wrong and that God was right.
Apparently, he had heard Paul, Silas, Luke, and Timothy teaching and preaching in the streets of Philippi prior to their being arrested. They taught about Who Jesus is and What He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. This MUST be taught for people to be Saved.
When they answered the jailer and said “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be Saved.” (Acts 16:31) they told him that to be Saved and born again, one must believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He gave up His place in Heaven to come to live on this earth as a man and die on the Cross of Calvary to pay the sin-debt for all people.
The simple fact is, God loves all people. Every person is His Creation, born for a specific purpose at a specific time in His Kingdom here on earth. God has an individual Plan for everyone but in order to fulfill His Plan for our lives we first must accept His Son as our Savior and Lord. We must be a citizen of the Kingdom of God to be used by Him in His Kingdom.
When you think about it, this makes perfect sense. One cannot be the President of the United States of America if they are not a citizen of the United States of America. Nor can one sit on a committee in the Rotary Club if you are not a member of that Rotary Club. The same is true in the Kingdom of God. We must be citizens of the Kingdom of God to be used of God in His Kingdom and the ONLY way of gaining citizenship in the Kingdom of God is through faith in Jesus Christ; Who He is and What He has done.
Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me. (John 14:6) This is what Paul and Silas said to the jailer when he asked about being saved. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be Saved. (Acts 16:31)
Once a person believes and places their faith in Who Jesus is and What Jesus did on the Cross, they are instantly saved by their faith. God does not require that we know everything about the Bible or the Benefits of being Saved. He could not require this because the Benefits of Salvation are endless and grow every day. The more we search for what Jesus accomplished for us, the more we find.
All God asks of us is to have Faith in His Son. The Apostle Paul devoted his life to this teaching. All of his writings are centered around this. To the Romans, he wrote For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the Power of God to Salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the Righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)
Every day that we choose to live by faith in Christ and Him Crucified, our faith grows. The more we believe, the more we will believe. This is what it means to live from faith to faith. As the old song goes, Only believe; only believe. All things are possible, only believe. Our relationship with God is based solely on our faith in His Son.
What is the basis of your faith? The answer to this question will determine your eternal destiny.
Faith in Christ Crucified is the only thing that will………..turn the tide……..in this world.
