2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for Doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness.
People of the world (those who are not saved and born again) are led by Satan and his demonic spirits and their goal is to destroy the Body of Christ because they hate God. As Jesus stated, The thief does not come except to kill, steal, and destroy. (John 10:10) Satan has a huge, well organized army of fallen angels, demons, and demonic spirits that attack people every day with the intent of killing them all.
Human beings are God’s most valuable of all His Creation. No other beings are created with a soul which means that people are the only living beings able to be saved and spend eternity in Heaven with God.
Every human being is created with an inner knowing that God is real. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the Work that God does from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) This means that everyone knows, deep down in their spirit, that God is real. No matter what some may say, they know there is a God.
Also, due to the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden, and because we are all his descendants, we are born with the sin nature. That is just a fact. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)
Therefore, we are created with both the knowledge that God is real AND the sin nature. The third thing we are all created with is free-will. This is our ability to choose what we do. In our hearts, we know what is right and what is wrong and the free-will that we are all created with, allows us to decide to do what is right or to do what is wrong.
Likewise, when we hear the Gospel of Christ preached, it is our choice to accept Jesus as our Savior or reject Him. This is all the result of the free-will mechanism we are created with. Some ask why God would give us the ability to choose evil over good. The answer is simple. God wants us to choose Him. He wants us to choose to be good and not evil.
A most excellent example of this is Job. The Book of Job is believed to be the first Book of the Bible written. I believe this to be true because it is an excellent example of faith and endurance through extreme hardship. The very first Verse describes Job. There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. He was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. (Job 1:1)
Throughout the entire Book of Job, we find a man who remained steadfast in his faith and his free-will decisions to do what was right. He recognized Satan’s hand on him and he shunned evil every time. What an example for us today! If you have never read the Book of Job, I suggest you do so. It will inspire you to make good choices in your life.
In this life, we will experience temptations, trials, and tribulations. This is a fact that none of us can avoid. However, as hard as life can be at times, let us strive to not focus on what is happening to us but rather on how we respond to what is happening. The only way to make good decisions and respond in a Godly manner is to study the Word of God and seek His Righteousness on a daily basis.
Thank you God for giving us free-will. Now guide us into all Righteousness and teach us to fear You and shun evil. Amen.
The Word of God will…...….turn the tide………..in your life.
The Word of God has served me well for many years. Doreen
