Fill My Vessel
March 12, 2022, 3:00 AM

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the Last Days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall Prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

The subject of the Last Days is often spoken of and preached about because it is the time in which we now live. No one knows how many days this will be but we do know that we have already seen 1,989 years in this time period. That would be almost 726,000 days that have passed since the Day of Pentecost when Peter spoke forth the Prophecy of Joel.

Throughout the Word of God, people are referred to as vessels. A vessel is a container of some kind. Vessels are designed to hold certain things. A water vessel has been designed and made to hold water. Other vessels are designed specifically for oil, wine, or other things.

God designed the human being in three parts: Spirit, soul, and body. Our Spirit being is a vessel designed to house spirits. These spirits can be (and often are) evil spirits that cause sin to be prevalent in our lives and sickness and disease to overtake us.

The Prophecy of Joel that Peter reminded the people about actually speaks directly to God’s Plan for His people in the Last Days, which is today and every day until the conclusion of the Great Tribulation. Personally, I believe the Rapture of the Church will occur prior to the Great Tribulation but many folks believe we will live through part or all of this awful time. However, the time of the Rapture of the Church is not the subject here as we are discussing the Prophecy which says, And it shall come to pass in the Last Days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:17).

In the heart of everyone, God has put a sense of knowing about Him. Solomon wrote: Also He has put eternity in their hearts. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Regardless of what people may say, deep down inside, they know God exists and they know there is life after death.

It is the Will of God that all people come to repentance, be Saved and born-again through faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Peter addressed this when he wrote: The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

No one comes to Salvation unless the Spirit draws them. In these Last Days, God is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh because it is His Will that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. The Apostle Paul also wrote about this to Timothy. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

We must be mindful of what these Passages actually say and be careful not to read more into it. It is the Will of God that all people come to the knowledge of the Truth, come to repentance, and be saved. This is the Will of God for everyone and every human being is created with the ability to be saved through faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.

God is pouring out His Holy Spirit on people. Everyone has the choice to accept it or reject it but either way, God is still faithful to pour out His Holy Spirit on us. Hallelujah! Today is the day to let your vessel be filled with the Holy Spirit of God! Let Him fill your vessel. He has so much for you.

Someday soon He will……….turn the tide
