2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Every born-again believer has within them three natures: Human Nature, Divine Nature, and Sin Nature. Prior to Salvation, everyone has the Human Nature and the Sin Nature within them. Upon their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, they receive the Divine Nature. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Peter 1:4)
Our Human Nature was created by God and it determines how we operate as human beings. The man, Christ Jesus, also had human nature. He had feelings, experienced pain, hunger, thirst, etc. just like we all do.
We are all born with the sin nature because of the fall of Adam and Eve way back in the Garden of Eden. Satan is the ruler of the sin nature within us. He plants evil thoughts in our minds and because of the sin nature within us, we act on those thoughts and those actions are sin. Jesus did not have a sin nature because He was not born of man. His Father was the Holy Spirit of God. This is why Jesus was able to live a totally sin-free life.
When we understand and believe that God sent Jesus to die on the Cross so we can be set free from sin, we are Saved and born again. At this time we receive the Divine Nature of God. This comes to us by way of the Holy Spirit who comes to dwell in the heart of every born-again believer in Christ. Jesus was God in the flesh so He obviously had the Divine Nature within Him. Yes, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man at the same time. He had human nature and the Divine Nature but He did not have the sin nature.
Jesus went to the Cross so we could be like Him. God created us all with human nature and Jesus died on the Cross so we can have the Divine Nature. When we place our faith consistently in the shed Blood of Christ on the Cross the Divine Nature within us will rule and reign. However, when we take our eyes and focus off the Cross of Christ, the sin nature will rise up in us and we will fail.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. Remain focused on all that He accomplished on the Cross for you. He died so that you may have the Divine Nature and live an Abundant Life. Hallelujah!
Focus on Jesus and He will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
Focused on Him, Doreen
