Galatians 5:1 Stand therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Today is Independence Day in America. We have always stood for freedom. Our Founding Fathers understood that freedom is a God-given right to every human being and our Founding Documents encompass that truth. No man can take away what God has given. The world can put us in chains but they can never take away our real freedom which is in Christ Jesus.
God has created every human being with something called free moral agency. This is our freedom to make decisions about what we do. While we do have instincts, we are not bound by God to follow them like all other life on earth. We have the freedom to choose what we will do.
Likewise, we have the freedom to choose whether or not we believe in God. He has given every person a measure of faith. God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3) He has also put in every heart the awareness that He is there. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Therefore, every person on earth has what they need to believe and be saved. They also have the freedom to choose whether or not they will believe.
Every American is born free. We can either live our lives in a state of freedom or we can choose to be slaves to something or someone. Thousands of men and women have sacrificed their lives so that we may have freedom in America. One Man, the Man Christ Jesus, sacrificed His Life so that we may be free from the bondage of sin. This freedom is available to everyone. No one is excluded. It doesn’t matter what we have done in the past. The moment we choose freedom in Christ Jesus, God sets us free!
It is then our responsibility to choose to live in that freedom every day. Stand therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)
People have left their homelands and come to America in search of freedom for over 200 years. Likewise, people have left the world and come to Christ for freedom for almost 2,000 years. The parallels are undeniable.
America stands for freedom in the natural. Jesus Christ stands for freedom in the spiritual. God wants us to have it all. We can have it all. It’s our choice. What do you choose today?
Don’t wait another day. God is about to……….turn the tide
I choose freedom in the natural and the spiritual. Doreen
