Luke 4:21 “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
The Benefit of Freedom is actually the greatest of all the Benefits for the born again believer in Christ. Freedom is the manifestation of all the other Benefits.
Luke recorded what happened in the Synagogue one Sabbath day. So He came to, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. He was handed the Book of the Prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the Book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has Anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the Synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” (Luke 4:16-21)
Jesus was sent to fulfill this Prophecy made by Isaiah. It is the prophecy of Freedom from any and all attack of the enemy including the Law. Yes, the Law had become evil. Originally it was the Ten Commandments but by the time Jesus came, it had increased to well over 600 Laws. Many of these were the Laws of man; not God. Jesus came to set them free from the work of the enemy through the hands of man.
Jesus came to bring Freedom to whosoever would believe on Him. As He stood and read from the Book of Isaiah that day in the Synagogue, He told the world of His Mission and Ministry on Earth. He came to set them Free from a bondage they were totally unaware of.
That FREEDOM remains available to us today. Anyone who believes in the Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary can be set free from any and all bondage of the enemy. All the Benefits we have been discussing for the past weeks are a part of that FREEDOM.
Jesus called this Benefit of FREEDOM, Abundant Life. The enemy works to rob us but Jesus died for us to have it all! The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) All the Benefits for believers will fit into what Jesus called Abundant Life and it is ALL a part of the Benefit of FREEDOM! Hallelujah!
Understanding the Benefit of FREEDOM will ……….turn the tide……..in your life.
