James 4:4 Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

 

The Mystery of God is that every born-again believer in Christ has the Holy Spirit of God living within them. The Holy Spirit of God is the same Spirit that dwelled in Jesus when He walked this earth as a man. That same Spirit is alive and well in us!

 

The Spirit within us enables us to be like Christ. This is what the word Christian means. It means to be Christ-like. We have the ability to do this because of the Spirit of God in us. This is the Mystery God held on to and kept secret until after Jesus was Crucified, Resurrected, and Ascended into Heaven. This is the Promise of God to all believers in Christ and Him Crucified.

 

Every born-again child of God is able to express Christ in a different way. We are all unique. God has created us each differently with distinct Gifts, abilities, and talents. When we receive Christ as our Savior and Lord, we are then able to express Jesus to others in our own way through these Gifts, abilities, and talents we were born with.

 

No one will ever be all that Christ was and is but we can reveal Christ to others through our God-given Gifts, abilities, and talents. That’s why we were created with these abilities. God does not give us things to use in the world or for the benefit of the world. The world is God’s enemy.

 

Everything God gives us is to be used for Him and His Kingdom. When we use our God-given Gifts, talents, and abilities to benefit the world, we become an enemy of God and this is not a good thing to be. If we believe in Jesus Christ we should want to be a friend of God, not an enemy. If we are a child of God then we will love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength as the First Commandment states. (Matthew 22:37)

 

God, the Father, loves you so much that He Sacrificed His Only Son so you can be Saved. He did this for you so you can be the Temple of the Holy Spirit and display Jesus Christ through your personal Gifts, talents, and abilities. This is your purpose for living at this time in human history. God has a Plan and a Purpose for you and your life. Will you be His child and His friend or will you live in the world and for the world and be His enemy? This is the question of life and we each have to answer for ourselves. What is your answer today?
