Mark 5:9 Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”
The long, black train of Satan continues to barrel across America in an attempt to overtake this nation for the devil. The lack of knowledge in the American people is why the enemy has gained the momentum he has. We must be informed and understand this demonic spiritual enemy if it is to be defeated in our land.
The battle we fight is spiritual. Demonic spirits rule these people. To defeat these spirits they must be named, called out, and rebuked. This battle can be compared to the demoniac Jesus came in contact with. Matthew, Mark, and Luke all relate this in their Gospel.
The Scriptures tell us he was, a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.
This man had been driven crazy by the demon spirits within him. Chains could not hold him. No one could tame him or talk with him. He cried out night and day and cut himself with stones. You need to get this picture to understand the power demons can have over people.
When Jesus came face to face with the demoniac, He spoke to the demon and demanded to know his name. Then He asked him, “What is your name?” The demon answered Jesus, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” This man had thousands of demons controlling his life. He was totally possessed by them which resulted in his demonic condition and behavior. The enemy had succeeded in completely robbing this man of his sanity.
This is what we see in millions of people today. The demons are many that possess these people and are the same demons that possessed the demoniac. Many have compared these radical people to animals because they are completely possessed by demons and their actions prove this out. My friends, this is a spiritual battle we face.
Over the next several days we will identify these evil spirits and attempt to reveal the truth of the matter. Like the demoniac, it’s not going to be a pretty picture.
Please note that the strongest of men and the heaviest of chains could not hold the demoniac. In the flesh, this battle could not be won, but when Jesus came on the scene, it was over in a matter of minutes. The Power was in Jesus and is still in the Name of Jesus. We have been given the authority to use the Power in His Name to rebuke the enemy and cast the demons out.
Without knowledge of the enemy and understanding and confidence in the Power we have been given, we will remain helpless. It’s time to re-claim America for Christ! He is, and always has been, the only answer! I pray you are beginning to get the picture.
