Giver Of Life

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.

We have spent several days discussing the old man and the new man. The new man is a completely new person. Everything about the old man is dead because he has been born again a new creation in Christ Jesus.

The Disciples of Christ were the first examples of a new creation in Christ. After Jesus was Resurrected from the dead, the Disciples were gathered together in the Upper Room. They were afraid that the Jews were coming to kill them so they shut the doors. Jesus appeared before them and spoke to them. He said, “Peace be with you.”

Then Jesus showed them His Hands and His Side. He wanted them to know that it was indeed Him standing with them. His scars were His identification. When they saw this they were happy because Jesus was back with them once again.

The Apostle John described this occurrence in his book. Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came the stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, He showed them His Hands and His side. Then the Disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed into them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:19-22)

Here we see that Jesus breathed into them and they became born again of the spirit. And when He had said this, He breathed into them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. When the first man was created, Jesus breathed the breath of life into him and he became a living soul. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)

I hope you can see the parallel in these two incidents. In both cases Jesus breathed the breath of life into them. Jesus is the Giver of Life! He declared Himself to be this. I am the Way, the Truth, and THE LIFE! (John 14:6) There is no life without Him.

Let Jesus breathe on you and……….turn the tide……..in your life!

Thank you Jesus,         Doreen
