Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the Last Days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.

 

In the 16th Chapter of the Book of Acts, Luke records the Vision given to Paul in regard to their ministry journey. And a Vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” (Acts 16:9) This was a clear directive given to Paul by the Holy Spirit. Prior to this, He had closed doors to other places Paul and Silas considered going. God had a Plan for Paul and Silas’ ministry and at this time, they were to travel to Macedonia and bring the Gospel of Christ to the people there.

 

God has always used Dreams and Visions to speak to people. Although we have dreams all the time, when we have a Dream from God, we remember it in detail. The same is true with Visions. We have dreams while we are asleep and visions while we are awake.

 

God uses Dreams and Visions to bring Healing, Deliverance, Correction, and Guidance to us. The human brain is extremely complex and people are strong-willed. We know what we want and we want what we know. Therefore, we make our own plans and devise our own methods of success and progress.

 

However, when God has something specific to speak to us, He will often come to us in a Dream because we cannot manipulate our dreams. The enemy plants thoughts in our minds and uses other people to lead us off track, but he cannot manipulate a God-given Dream or Vision.

 

This is exactly what happened to Paul that night in Troas. He was seeking Divine Guidance but his mind kept directing him to places that the Holy Spirit did not want him to go. So, God came to him in a Vision and gave him clear, explicit direction. And a Vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” (Acts 16:9)

 

Never discount a God-given Dream or Vision. This is God speaking directly to you. He loves you very much and has a Plan for your life. He may want to bring about Healing or Deliverance to you through a Dream or Vision. This is what He did for Peter when he fell into a trance while sitting on the roof. (Acts 11:5-10)

 

God knew where He wanted Paul and Silas to go next. They were His Plan for the Gospel to reach the West and continue North into Europe. Paul’s obedience to this Vision brought the Gospel of Christ to the Western world. Think about that! We don’t think of Macedonia as being West, but it was Northwest of where they had been. It was the gateway to the West and Western civilization as we know it today. That’s us! Thank you Lord for the Vision given to Paul and his obedience to go to Macedonia.

 

 

God-given Dreams and Visions will……….turn the tide………..in people.
