Guided By The Holy Spirit

Acts 1:2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given Commandments to the Apostles whom He had chosen.

In the Second Verse of the Book of Acts, we find a most important fact. Jesus continued His Ministry until He ascended. Until the day in which He was taken up. Then, we read that the Ministry of the Church was to continue through the Apostles by Commandments they would be given by the Holy Spirit. After He through the Holy Spirit had given Commandments to the Apostles whom He had chosen.

The Holy Spirit is the Person of the Godhead that is now to Direct, Guide, and Lead the Church. All of Jesus’ Ministry was done by the Guidance and Power of the Holy Spirit. His Ministry did not begin until the Holy Spirit came upon Him when He was Baptized.

The Ministry of Jesus is, and should ever be, the Pattern of Ministry for His Church. The Direction and Guidance for that fellowship of believers is to come through the Holy Spirit ALONE! This takes me to this question: How many churches today really seek the Guidance of the Holy Spirit and follow that Guidance? Unfortunately, very few, and that is WHY we don’t see Miracles in the Church today.

The Holy Spirit is the supernatural POWER of God. Without the Power of God, we have nothing, really. This is why most churches today are not much more than social clubs. Some are houses of praise and worship, but very few are Houses of Miracles.

I don’t know about you, but I believe God for Miracles. Everything the Holy Spirit did through the Hands of Jesus during His Ministry here on Earth, He wants to do through our hands. We are intended to be the Ministry of Jesus TODAY! This is the purpose of the Church today.

This is, and always has been, the purpose of Betts Ministries. While I didn’t even realize it myself at first, I knew God had set me and this property apart for something very special. It was to be unlike anything found in all the other churches.

Actually, we are not a “church” at all. God did not call me to build a “church.” He called me to build a place of retreat and “create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can work in the lives of the people who come.” Those are the Words I kept hearing over and over again in my spirit and mind: “Create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can work.”

I can see now, after studying the Book of Acts, that He has called me to build a place like the First Century Church found in the Book of Acts. It was not at all to be like all the churches we find on every corner in America today but a place where the Holy Spirit dwells and is free to operate however He sees fit in whoever is present at that particular time.

In accordance with the Leading and Guidance of the Holy Spirit, and in obedience to His Voice and Words spoken to me, I set out to accomplish the task He put before me. We have seen many Miracles. Thousands of people have been touched by the Hands and Presence of the Holy Spirit on this property.

We have only just begun. God has much more to do here on this ground that He has set apart for His Purpose. The best is yet to come. Hallelujah!

The Holy Spirit of God can and will……….turn the tide……..in your life.

He turned the tide in mine, that’s for sure!            Doreen
