Matthew 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Some Christian denominations teach that all the Spiritual Gifts and Power of the Holy Spirit died with the last Apostle. They do not believe that there is any Power to Heal or Deliver in the Church today. I say to them, “Hogwash!” My friends, we cannot pick and choose what part of the Word of God we want to believe. It’s all or nothing. You either believe it, or you don’t.
Why would the Holy Spirit include all the Scriptures about the Spiritual Gifts and Callings if they would only be in effect for 50 years? Why would it be acceptable to receive all of the Fruit of the Spirit but not the Gifts of the Spirit? How can the Calling of the Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher still be active in the Body of Christ, but not the Apostle and Prophet? That just doesn’t make any sense!
The word Christian means “Christ-like.” Christians are supposed to be like Jesus was and do what He did during His Ministry here on Earth. He was our example and approximately 20% of His Ministry consisted of Healing the sick. If the Ministry of Healing is not for us today, why would the Word of God say, Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. (James 5:14-15)?
There was no sickness on Earth until the fall of man. Therefore, sickness is the result of sin. I am not saying that every sickness is caused by sin, but many are. However, EVERY sickness is covered in the Atonement made by Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. He took 39 lashes on His Back for our sicknesses and diseases. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
In those days, 40 lashings was the point where most people died, because the torture was too unbearable for any person to handle. This wasn’t for our sins, this time He shed His Blood solely for our healing! It is God’s Will that we be healed. That’s why Jesus went through near death torture! He did it JUST for our healing! Our healing has been paid for with the Blood of Jesus! Don’t let the devil tell you otherwise!
Since sickness and diseases are symptoms of a curse, (Deuteronomy 28:59-61) and since Jesus paid the price on the Cross to set us free from all curses (Galatians 3:13) why would any child of God be living under a curse?
Everything we receive from God comes to us by our faith. Jesus died for every person on Earth but every person is not saved and born again. Why? Because they don’t believe it. Jesus took the lashes on His Back so we can be healed from all sickness and disease, but millions of Christians lie in bed stricken with sickness and disease. Why? Because they don’t believe it. FAITH, FAITH, FAITH! That’s what it takes, people……..FAITH!
Faith in what? Faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Faith in what He accomplished there that Day. Faith in the fact that on that Day, EVERYTHING the devil stole from God’s people has been returned. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)
Faith in the Finished Work of Christ will.……….turn the tide………..in your life.
