Mark 16:18 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs.

 

After Jesus Ascended into Heaven, His followers began to minister to lost people everywhere. They knew and believed they had the Power of the Holy Spirit with them to set people free from sin and the grasp of the devil on their lives.

 

Mark didn’t record specific incidents. Instead he simply wrote, , the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. These few words speak volumes about their ministry.

 

The Holy Spirit accompanied them and led them in everything they did. He worked with them. They spoke the Word and the Miracles, Signs, and Wonders that followed brought confirmation to those who were there.

 

Oh my, if the Church could just operate like this today, just imagine how many souls would be saved and lives changed! This is what God wants from us. This is the Pattern for Ministry He set forth in His Word.

 

Most people in ministry today have gone through years of education. They are well versed in the Scriptures and can quote the Bible all day long but how many are actually following God’s Pattern for His Church in their ministry?

 

God’s Pattern of Ministry is not only for those who are called to be Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. His Pattern of Ministry is for EVERY BELIEVER. During the time of the First Church, they ALL went out and preached. This is a big part of what is lacking in the Church today. Why? I believe it’s because most of the Church is lazy and because those in authority want to control the ministry of “their” church.

 

What they don’t realize is that the fellowship of believers that meet together under their leadership do not belong to them. Their church (and every church) belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. Every church is His Church or it is no Church at all and that is why we do not see accompanying Miracles, Signs, and Wonders in those places.

 

It’s time to stop playing games people. We are living in the last of the Last Days. Jesus will soon be returning for His Church. Did you get that? HIS CHURCH! Not the people who sit in the same building every week for an hour or two. And, not the few with fancy titles who sit in authority over the people and attempt to control their every move.

 

If you are truly a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, He is coming back for you. We will each give an account of what we have individually done to build the Kingdom of God. What have you done? What are you doing?

 

Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and tell someone about Jesus today. He will work with you and you will witness an accompanying sign! There is nothing like it. To God be the Glory, great things He hath done.
