History Repeats Itself

Hebrews 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent Ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better Covenant, which was established on better Promises.

God had a wonderful Covenant with His people; the people of Israel. About 1,500 years prior to the Birth of Christ, God brought His people out of Egypt. At this time, they had everything. The Word of God says: He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. (Psalms 105:37) They had all the wealth they could ever want or need and none of them were sick with any disease.

The Lord had told Moses: If you will diligently hearken to the Voice of the Lord your God, and will do that which is right in His Sight…...I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: For I am the Lord Who heals you. (Exodus 15:26)

Concerning nations the Word of God says: And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if that you hearken unto the Commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day, to observe and to do them. (Deuteronomy 28:13)

The Word of God also says: The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be smitten before your face: they shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:7)

As the people of Israel turned from God their lifestyle became worse and worse. They were no longer free from disease and by the Birth of Christ they were under Roman rule. They were no longer the superior nation they once were.

It is clear what God had planned for these people. There was to be no poverty or sickness. Their enemies would not stand a chance against them. They were to be the greatest nation on earth. They were all that until they turned from God. That’s when they started to go downhill.

The New Covenant includes all people of all nations. It is a Better Covenant with Better Promises but it still requires that God’s people seek Him first and have no other gods before Him. What has happened in America since 1960 when we took prayer and the Bible out of our schools and public places? Is History repeating itself? Are we going the way of Israel?

Wake up, my friends. God keeps His Promises. He will do what He says He will do. It’s past time for America to turn back to God. Today is the day to turn back to God because……….

He is about to……….turn the tide
