How To Live Pleasing To God
June 24, 2023, 3:00 AM

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work.

There is a horrible false teaching in the Church today that declares that once a person is “saved” it doesn’t matter what they do or how they live. This is part of the “once saved, always saved” doctrine which is absolutely false and extremely detrimental.

If this were true, the Word of God would all be about “How to be Saved.” On the contrary, the majority of the Word of God is instructions on how to live our lives pleasing to God AFTER we are Saved and born again. While it is the Will of God for everyone to come to the knowledge of the Truth of the Gospel of Christ and be Saved and born again, there is very little written on this subject in the Bible.

Jesus said, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3) He also said, No one can come to Me unless the Father Who sent Me draws him. (John 6:44)

The Apostle Paul wrote about this in his letters to the Romans and the Ephesians. Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be Saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is Saved. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:9-10;17) For by Grace you have been Saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the Gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Peter told the people how to be Saved in his sermon as recorded by Luke in the Book of Acts. He repeated the Prophetic Word spoken by Joel. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be Saved. (Acts 2:21) (Joel 2:30-32)

That is just about all that is written on the subject of “How to be Saved.” The rest of the whole Bible is written on the subject of “How to live your life pleasing to God AFTER you are Saved.” So, if it doesn’t matter how we live our lives once we are saved, why would the Holy Spirit inspire all this teaching and say All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)?

I welcome your comments on this all-important subject and I encourage you to pay close attention to what is being preached and taught from the pulpit where you attend Church.

Seek the Truth! It will……….turn the tide

I await your comments,         Doreen
