1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
Yesterday, we discussed the Passage of Scripture that explains that as born-again believers, we have the mind of Christ. But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16) This means that when we surrender our thoughts to God and allow the Holy Spirit to have control of our minds, He will remind us of the Words of Jesus. This is to give us a new mind: the Mind of Christ. We have the ability to think as Jesus thinks.
The Apostle Paul also said that his new life imitated Christ and ours can too. Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1) What does it mean to imitate someone? The dictionary defines it as copying or following after as a model or example.
This is actually what the word Christian means. It means to be Christ-like. As Christians, we are to be Christ-like; imitate Christ; follow after His pattern of life; copy Him; and use His Life as a pattern for our lives. In other words, we are to act like Jesus.
On our own, we cannot do this. We can’t think like Jesus or act like Jesus without the help of the Holy Spirit. This is actually His job. When He comes to dwell within us, He begins to transform us in every area of our life and make us more like Jesus.
As He reminds us of the Words Jesus spoke, we will begin to think like Jesus and as we learned the other day, we are what we think. Therefore, as we think more like Jesus, we will act more like Jesus. Hallelujah!
The Word of God tells us that we have the Mind of Christ and that we can imitate Christ. But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16) Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1) These two Passages of Scripture bring forth a Revelation that is life-changing! We CAN think and act like Christ. All we have to do is surrender our old thinking and actions and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us.
God wants to……..….turn the tide……….in your life.
Hallelujah! Doreen
