Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His Riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.

God wants His people to prosper but we are not to take up the ways of the world to get there. Jesus made that perfectly clear when He said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) When the motivation of our heart is correct and we are seeking to build the Kingdom of God, He will provide what we need. Once again, it all comes back to having faith in Christ and Him Crucified. What does Jesus going to the Cross have to do with God providing for us?

People who believe Jesus went to the Cross for their sins believe that they will spend eternity in Heaven when they die. Jesus said For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Everlasting Life. (John 3:16)

Jesus also made the following statement: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) In this statement, the thief is the enemy; Satan, whose only mission is to bring harm, destruction, and death to people because he hates God. He will do all he can to draw people away from God and into his evil world of darkness where sin is the dominating force.

On the other hand, Jesus brings life; abundant life which has to do with our lives while we are alive on this earth. Abundant Life consists of everything Good and Righteous. This is the Will of God for all people and it is available to us through our faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross.

While Jesus was alive when He made the above Statements, it was at the Cross where it was all paid for. We are not Saved because Jesus was born of a Virgin and lived a sinless Life. We are Saved because He went to the Cross, died for our sins, and defeated the power of the enemy in our lives. Likewise, everything that can be included in Abundant Life is afforded to us because Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary.

Every Word Jesus spoke while He was alive on this earth was either a Teaching, Prophecy, or a Promise. He told us Who He was and What He was going to do and Why. He explained everything we need to know to be Saved, have Abundant Life now and spend eternity in Heaven when our life on this earth is over.

He told us all these things but when He went to the Cross of Calvary, He sealed the deal. When He said It is finished. (John 19:30) that was it! Everything He Taught, Prophesied, and Promised became available to anyone and everyone who would choose to believe in Him.

This is why the Scriptures all read in Christ Jesus, by Christ Jesus, through Christ Jesus. To live the Abundant Life Jesus spoke of in John 10:10 we must believe and place our faith in the FACT that He went to the Cross to fulfill that Promise.

Yes, Jesus is God’s Son. Yes, He was born of a Virgin. Yes, He lived a totally sinless life. Yes, He performed countless Miracles while He walked this earth as a man. Yes, He Taught, Prophesied, and Promised many things BUT it was not until He went to the Cross that all became real for us. Because He went to the Cross we can have Abundant Life here on this earth. And my God shall supply all your need according to His Riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) Hallelujah!

The Cross of Christ will still……….turn the tide
