Matthew 5:37 But let your “Yes” be “Yes, and your “No” be “No.” For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
The Sermon on the Mount is probably the greatest sermon ever preached. The entire thing is written in Chapters 5 through 7 in the Gospel of Matthew. Everyone would be well advised to read and study these Words of Jesus as they are clear instructions on how to live your life pleasing to God.
Integrity is very important to God. He wants us to be people of integrity which means to be honest and have strong moral principles and moral uprightness. A person of integrity stands by their word no matter the circumstances. It is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change no matter what!
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, But let your “Yes” be “Yes, and your “No” be “No.” For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. (Matthew 5:37) Unfortunately, many people today (even those professing to be Christians) are not people of integrity. Rather, they are wishy-washy. They will say and do whatever seems right at the moment instead of standing strong on what they know in their heart to be right.
The Word of God has many Passages of Scripture on the subject of integrity. The following are a few examples.
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.” (Job 2:3)
Far be it from me that I should say you are right; till I die I will not put away my integrity from me. (Job 27:5)
Let me be weighed on honest scales, that God may know my integrity. (Job 31:6)
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You. (Psalms 25:21)
But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful to me. (Psalms 26:11)
He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known. (Proverbs 10:9)
The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. (Proverbs 11:3)
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. (Proverbs 19:1)
The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him. (Proverbs 20:7)
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich. (Proverbs 28:6)
Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. (Titus 2:6-8)
Heed the Word of God. It will……….turn the tide……….in this world!
Thus saith the Lord. Doreen
