Ezekiel 8:1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the Hand of the Lord God fell there upon me.
The 8th Chapter of Ezekiel describes a vision given by God to Ezekiel of the abominations of man. It’s interesting to note that the Holy Spirit found it important to tell us the exact day God gave this vision to Ezekiel. It was the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month.
These numbers would be, 6 6 5; one day short of 6 6 6, which is the number for Satan and the Antichrist. Perhaps the vision God gave Ezekiel describes what the world will look like the day before the Antichrist enters the scene.
If you read through the 8th Chapter describing this Vision you will see that it is not a pretty picture. As Ezekiel looks, the first thing he sees is the fire of the Lord God Almighty which took him by a lock of his hair and raised him up between Heaven and Earth to give him a clearer view. (vs. 2-3)
To be taken by a lock of your hair is a painful experience. God didn’t gently take Ezekiel by the hand or escort him by prompting him to go. Instead, He took him by a lock of his hair and pulled him up between Heaven and Earth. God picked Ezekiel up by his hair and insisted he see the vision.
Ezekiel’s eyes were cast to the north gate where he saw the image of jealousy. The north gate would indicate the place of the Brazen Altar which was the place of sacrifice. However, in that place, Ezekiel saw the image of jealousy. The Scripture says, the image of jealousy which provokes jealousy. (vs. 3) The Brazen Altar is a symbol of Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross for all of mankind but there, blocking the Altar of Sacrifice, was jealousy.
This is a perfect picture of the Church today, (which by the way, could very well be the day before the day of the Antichrist). Jealousy is prevalent in the Body of Christ today. Churches are clamoring for people and their money. Pastors are jealous of each other and of other ministries. They are afraid “their people” will leave and take their money somewhere else.
This jealousy drives the messages spoken from the pulpit and what we hear is not the True Gospel of Christ but a politically correct, watered-down version of the Truth. Jesus said, Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
The Gospel of Christ is a convicting message. It WILL bring a person to repentance if preached truthfully. Repentance is the key to every blessing of God. Without repentance, there is no Salvation. Without repentance, there is no Deliverance or Healing. Without repentance, there is……..nothing.
Are we living in day 6 6 5; the last day before the Antichrist comes on the scene? Is jealousy blocking the view of the True Gospel of Christ? Perhaps God is dragging us by the hair of our heads to show us the real picture. Perhaps we better start paying attention.
The True Gospel of Christ will……..turn the tide
