John 14:6 I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.
Jesus gave Himself the Name/Title of the WAY. He declared Himself as this because He was and is, the ONLY WAY to the Father in Heaven. Regardless of what many people are saying today, there is ONLY one Way to the Father and that is through faith in Jesus Christ.
The night before His Crucifixion, in the Upper Room, Jesus gathered His Disciples together. He washed their feet and shared a final Passover meal with them. His Disciples had lived with Him for more than three years. They sat under His Teaching and learned from His example. All their hope was in Him as the Messiah and yet they still didn’t understand what was about to happen.
After the Last Supper, Jesus began to explain to them the sequence of events that would soon transpire but this only led to more questions by the Disciples. John, the beloved, recorded the conversation. Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s House are many mansions; it if were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:1-6) These Words of Jesus are as true today as the day He spoke them 2,000 years ago. He is still the WAY. He is still the ONLY WAY to the Father in Heaven.
The Disciples felt so strongly about Jesus being the Way, that they named the First Church The Way. But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. (Acts 24:14)
In the heart of every human being is longing to spend eternity with God in Heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) It is the Will of God that all come to the knowledge of Christ, be Saved and spend eternity in Heaven. (2 Peter 3:9) God made a Way for this to happen. That Way is faith in Christ and Him Crucified.
Sin separates us from God. Jesus went to the Cross to Atone for all sin and Redeem us in the eyes of God. Faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary is our WAY to the Father in Heaven. For by Grace you have been Saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the Gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)
Faith in Christ is the only WAY to…...….turn the tide……..in this world.
He is my WAY, Doreen
