Jesus Is The Word Of God

1 Peter 1:23 Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever,

As we bring our study of the Names/Titles of Jesus to a close, let us be ever mindful of the fact that the WORD of God is a Person and He has always been in existence. He was with God in the beginning at the foundation of the earth. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:1-3) He was with God when They created man in Their own Image. Let Us make man in Our own Image. (Genesis 1:26)

For thirty-three years, the Word took on human form and walked this earth as a man, the Man, Christ Jesus. During that time, He was still the WORD and He was also a Man. He was 100% Deity and 100% Man at the same time.

Therefore, one of Jesus’ many Names/Titles is the WORD OF GOD which has always been and will always be in existence. Matthew, Mark, and Luke all record the Words spoken by Jesus when He said Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away. (Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33)

In his Epistle, the Apostle Peter explains that the Word of God is alive and will remain alive forever. Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever, (1 Peter 1:23)

Given this understanding, I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing more important on the face of this earth than the WORD OF GOD. Whether it be in written form or spoken to us through the still, small Voice of the Holy Spirit, the WORD OF GOD is the most important “thing” we have in our possession.

While Jesus (THE WORD) walked the earth as a Man, He actually spoke to the people who were alive at that time. Jesus taught the people about Himself and how to live their lives pleasing to God, the Father. As inspired by the Holy Spirit, the people wrote down the WORDS Jesus spoke and we know these writings as the Bible today. Every Word in the Bible is Holy Spirit Inspired and is to be used for life application. All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The WORD OF GOD is incredibly Powerful and it will lead us in the way we should go. It is the single most beneficial “thing” anyone could ever have. The Psalmist wrote Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalms 119:05) He went on to write Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. (Psalms 119:11)

Prior to His Crucifixion, Jesus, the LIVING WORD OF GOD, taught the people everything they needed to know in regard to living Righteous lives. He knew His destiny. He knew He would be going to the Cross and would leave them to return to God, the Father. He also knew the Father would then send them the Holy Spirit Who would dwell within them and cause them to remember His Words. These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:25-26)

Never underestimate the Power of the WORD OF GOD. It is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, in written form. Read it. Cherish it. Live by it. The WORD OF GOD will never lead you astray. It will always lead you in the ways of Righteousness.

The WORD OF GOD will………..turn the tide……….in your life!

Give the Word a chance.         Doreen
