Jesus, the Head
April 3, 2024, 3:00 AM

Colossians 1:18 And He is the Head of the body, the Church. He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent.

God has Divine Order for everything. We find this throughout the entirety of the Word of God. Most people will agree that God is Supreme over all Creation and that His Divine Order will play out no matter what man may say. His Laws for His Creation were set in place by Him in the beginning and no one can change them. For by Him all things were created, in Heaven and on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16)

Likewise, God has put in place a Divine order for His people. We read about this in the Old Testament. We know this as God’s Law and it pertains to every aspect of life. The Sacrificial System, Ten Commandments, dietary restrictions, dress codes, prayers, human interaction, and all the others were all part of this. There are 613 Laws in the Old Covenant and they are intended to maintain God’s Divine Order for His people.

When Jesus came on the scene, He brought the New Covenant that was between God and all people; not just the Hebrews. None of what Jesus instituted disrupted God’s Divine Order for Creation or for humanity.

Jesus actually brought a sense of simplicity to it all. Jesus simplified the 613 Laws down to just 2. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the First Commandment. And the second, like it is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other Commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31)

God placed Jesus as the Head over the Church. And He (God) put all things under His (Jesus) Feet and gave Him (Jesus) as head over all things to the Church. (Ephesians 1:22) Unfortunately over the centuries since Jesus’ time, man has taken over the Church and what we find today is far from what God originally instituted in the First Century.

The Words of Jesus should be the authority over the Body of Christ; the Church. Is that the case at your church? It should be because this is God’s Divine Order for His Church.

Jesus wants to…...….turn the tide……..in His Church.

Have your way, Jesus.         Doreen
