John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

We have devoted the past six weeks to the study of the many Names and Titles given to Jesus in the Bible. Today we will study one of the most exquisite and powerful of all Jesus’ Names/Titles. That Name is the WORD.

A quick study reveals the FACT that the Word of God has always been in existence and continues to be alive and powerful today. For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

In the Gospel according to John, the Word is referred to as a Person. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, (the Word) and without Him (the Word) nothing was made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

As we read on in the 1st Chapter of John we come to this statement: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14) In this single Verse of Scripture, we find the manifestation of the Word becoming Jesus, the human being. This is one of the most significant Verses in the entire Bible!

The Apostle John walked very close to Jesus for more than three years. He is known as John, the beloved, because, of all the Apostles, he had the closest relationship with Jesus. In addition to his Gospel, John wrote 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and the Book of Revelation. In 1 John 5:7, he makes a statement that brings credence to the fact that Jesus is the Word of God. For there are Three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these Three are one. This speaks to the Trinity with Jesus, the Son, referred to as the WORD.

Therefore, Jesus and the WORD are synonymous; they are One and the same. No matter their physical form, they have always been the same and continue to be the same to this day. You cannot separate the Man, Jesus, from the Word because He is the WORD!

For thirty-three and a half years, the Word of God actually walked this earth as the Man, Christ Jesus, in human form. Nothing about Him changed except His physical appearance. Although He had a human body, Jesus was still the WORD of God and He is still the WORD of God today as He sits at the Right Hand of the Father in Heaven.

God, the Father, sent His Word to become the Man, Christ Jesus. He did this out of His great Love for all of us. Our Heavenly Father wants every person on earth to be Saved and born again through faith in the Finished Work of His Son, Jesus Christ, on the Cross of Calvary. That’s WHY God sent His Word to live as a Man on earth. He came to be the final Sacrifice for all of mankind. He gave His Life on the Cross for you and me because He loves us and wants us to be born again and spend eternity in Heaven with Him.

For this cause, God literally gave His Word! This is His free Gift to anyone who chooses to accept it. Believe in Jesus, the WORD.

He will………..turn the tide……..in your life.

Thank you God for the Gift of your Word,         Doreen
