Romans 14:11 For we shall all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ.

 

Yesterday, we discussed the Great White Throne Judgment. This is where every person who rejected Jesus Christ will be judged by Jesus Christ, sentenced, and eventually cast into eternal punishment. No one wants to stand before Jesus at the Great White Throne Judgment and no one who has trusted Jesus as their Savior and Lord will do so.

 

Believers in Christ will stand before Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote about this in his letter to the Romans For we shall all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. (Romans 14:10-12)

 

While this is a place of judgment, it is not a place of punishment for sins because every truly born-again believer in Christ has been forgiven of all their sins. Jesus paid the price with His Blood on the Cross of Calvary so believers don’t have to stand before Him at the Great White Throne Judgment and be sentenced to eternal punishment in Hell.

 

There are two places of Judgment: The Great White Throne Judgment and the Judgment Seat of Christ. They are NOT THE SAME THING! This is highly misunderstood by the Church today because most preachers don’t want to even touch on the subject of Judgment. I, on the other hand, believe it is of extreme importance that we all know the truth on this subject and we find it in the Word of God.

 

Every truly Redeemed, born-again believer in Christ will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. Speaking to believers, Paul said For we must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the Body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10) The Judgment Seat of Christ is actually the place where we will be issued our rewards for what we have done for the Kingdom of God.

 

I pray that you have clarity and understanding about these two very important Judgment Seats. I also pray you are truly Redeemed by your faith in the shed Blood of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. There is no other way to be Redeemed. Jesus is the ONLY Way. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. (John 14:6)
