Justified

Acts 13:39 And by Him all, who believe are justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.

Yesterday, we defined the Hebrew word “aphesis.” Paul used this word in his sermon in the synagogue in Antioch in Pisidia. He said Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins. (Acts 13:38) As a point of review, aphesis means a TOTAL DISMISSAL OR RELEASE; FORGIVING AND FORGETTING; A SUSPENSION OF THE JUST PENALTY.

He then went on to say And by Him all, who believe are justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses. (Acts 13:39) In this statement by Paul we find the requirement for being Saved. That is, belief; faith in Christ Crucified. The only requirement for Salvation is belief. We MUST believe or we are not Saved. It’s that simple.

In his statement that day in the synagogue Paul used the word justified. This means to be declared totally and completely innocent of all charges. To be declared innocent is far greater than to be not guilty. Innocent means the crime was never committed. Not guilty means that guilt could not be proven.

When a person sincerely repents and BELIEVES that Jesus went to the Cross and died for their sins, they are immediately Saved. In that instant, the Judge (God) declares them to be justified; innocent of all charges. They are forgiven, justified, and set free from all consequences which in the case of sin, is death. The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

Due to the fact that we are all sinners (All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23) we are all deserving of the just penalty, death. (The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23) God made a Way for everyone to be set free from this death penalty. The ONLY way to not spend eternity in Hell is to place your faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross.

Paul stated this so clearly in his Letter to the Romans. God sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins. He did this by shedding His Blood on the Cross. He went to the Cross and died for you and me. It is the Will of God that EVERYONE be Saved from spending eternity in Hell. Who desires all men to be Saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)

God made it so simple for everyone to be Saved. There is no reason for anyone to not be Saved. All anyone has to do is believe what Jesus said. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. (John 14:6)

God wants to…..…….turn the tide……..in your life.
