Kingdom Of Heaven

Matthew 3:2 Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

As Jesus began His Ministry, John the Baptist introduced Him and announced His arrival. He said, Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. (Matthew 3:2) Have you ever given any thought as to why John the Baptist didn’t say, “Repent, for the Son of God is at hand.” or “Repent, for the Messiah is at hand.”? John the Baptist introduced Jesus as the Kingdom of Heaven.

Then, Jesus verified this Himself. From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17) Jesus referred to Himself as the Kingdom of Heaven.

John the Baptist’s announcement was that the Kingdom of Heaven was soon to arrive. (Matthew 3:2) Jesus’ announcement was that the Kingdom of Heaven had already arrived and He was it! (Matthew 4:17)

Later during Jesus’ Ministry some people accused Him of using Satan’s power to cast out demons. To this Jesus answered, If I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you. (Matthew 12:28 and Luke 11:20) Again, Jesus refers to Himself as the Kingdom of God.

Oftentimes Jesus taught using Parables. In many of the Parables, Jesus refers to Himself as the Kingdom of Heaven or the Kingdom of God. In the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares, Jesus said, The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; (Matthew 13:24) Jesus is that man.

In the Parable of the Mustard Seed. The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. (Matthew 13:31) Jesus is the man and the seed.

In the Parable of the Hidden Treasure. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Matthew 13:44) Jesus is the hidden treasure.

Every Kingdom must have a Ruler. Without a king or queen, there is no Kingdom. Jesus is the King. He is the Kingdom of Heaven personified. He was then and He still is now. And, one day soon King Jesus will set up His Kingdom here on earth. Satan and all his demons will be locked away for 1,000 years! The world will be totally transformed and at peace. It will be much like the Garden of Eden. Even the animals will be at peace. Believers will have Glorified bodies and perform Miracles, Signs, and Wonders. What a time that will be! Hallelujah!

Hold on! King Jesus is about to…...….turn the tide

Come quickly Lord Jesus!         Doreen
