Let The Light Shine

Isaiah 14:24 The Lord of Hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand.”

Gamaliel knew he could not come against the Ministry of the First Church. Somewhere within him, there was a sense that Jesus was the Messiah and the Apostles were preaching and teaching the Truth of the Gospel.

Whether he believed it or not, we do not know but we do know that he was a great influence over the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Sanhedrin because when Gamaliel told them to not kill the Apostles but give them a little space, they obeyed him. And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God. (Acts 5:38-39)

Gamaliel knew that if the Ministry of the Apostles was of God they could not defeat it. He also knew that if it was not of God, it would fizzle out on its own. And so it has always been and continues to this day. That which God establishes cannot be destroyed by man.

Jesus said, On this rock I shall build my Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

The Lord God spoke through the great Prophet Isaiah and said, Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand. (Isaiah 14:24)

The Sanhedrin had the Apostles beaten and instructed them to stop teaching in the Name of Jesus. Yes, they were persecuted but the lesson is in how they responded to what happened to them. Did they stop preaching and teaching? Did they tuck tail and leave town? Not hardly! So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His Name. And daily in the Temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus is the Christ. (Acts 5:41-42)

My friends, no matter what the government says or what persecution we might face, we cannot cease doing what we have been called to do. Jesus told us to go forth and preach the Gospel of Christ. He is the Light of the world in the midst of darkness. His Light is in us and it is our responsibility and privilege to shine the Light everywhere.

The Light of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only thing that will change the hearts of evil men. We are to be the Light bearers.

The Light of the Gospel will…..…….turn the tide……..in this dark and evil world.

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!         Doreen
