Life And Death

Romans 8:2 For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death.

The goal of every believer is to live their lives pleasing to God. In and of ourselves, we cannot do this. If we could, Jesus would not have had to go to the Cross. It was there that He paid the price God required for sin AND He also defeated all power of the enemy over us. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)

The only power and influence Satan has over us is that which we give him. The more we study and focus on what Christ did for us on the Cross, the more we can understand all the Benefits included in the Finished Work of Christ on Crucifixion Day.

Every good Evangelist will preach the Saving Grace of Jesus. They will explain how His Crucifixion paid the price for our sin and by believing that, we can spend eternity in Heaven. That is right and good, but that’s not the whole story. Jesus did that but He accomplished far, far more in addition to that on Crucifixion Day.

When Jesus said, “It is finished.” He disarmed the Devil on our behalf. He didn’t have to do this for Himself, He did it for us! This is the Victory we have available to us through faith in the Work of Jesus on the Cross.

God is a God of Law and Order. Everything He creates is according to His Laws and in perfect Order. Since He created Heaven and Earth, all the natural laws and spiritual laws of the entire universe were put in place by Him and no man can change them. They are exactly as God Almighty created them.

In the 8th Chapter of the Book of Romans, we find two Laws put in place by God. They are the Law of the Spirit of Life and the Law of sin and death. For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death. (Romans 8:2) Like all of God’s Laws, these two have been in place since He created them and they will remain there.

Here we find two Laws: the Law of the Spirit of Life and the Law of Sin and Death. We are either alive or dead. No one is partially alive or half dead. We are all either one or the other. This holds true in the natural AND in the spiritual. The above Passage of Scripture is spiritual in nature. It is referring to our spiritual beings.

The Spirit of Life is ONLY available in Christ Jesus. For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus There is no other source of spiritual life. Without Jesus, we are spiritually dead. This means that we MUST believe and place our faith in Jesus and His Finished Work on the Cross IF we want to live. He is our ONLY source of life. He said, I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

There is no other source of life and being “in Christ” will set us free from the Law of Sin and Death. Therefore, when we are “in Christ” we live the abundant life Jesus died for us to have. Otherwise, we suffer the torment of sin and death. We cannot have it both ways. We are either “in Christ” or we are not.

God has put in place two Laws for the human spirit: Life and Death. We can live or we will die. That is a fact because that is the Law of God and no man can break it. There is ONE WAY to Life and that is by having faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. Understand that through His Finished Work on the Cross, we have Victory over the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

Only being “in Christ” will…...….turn the tide ……….in your life.

In Christ alone,         Doreen
