Love, Kindness and Mercy

P            Psalms 103:4 Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.

Thus far in our study of the Benefits of being a born again believer in Christ, we have: FORGIVENESS, HEALING and DELIVERANCE. We could spend months delving into each of these individually, but for now we will move on.

In addition of having all our sins totally and forever forgiven, all our sicknesses and diseases healed and our lives rescued from the pit of destruction, the Word of God now includes loving kindness and tender mercies. While it is true that God looks at us in this light, this is a Benefit for us not only to receive but to operate in and share with others.

All the Benefits are that way. Jesus said, Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:8) The fact of the matter is, we cannot give away something we don’t have. We cannot forgive people if we have not accepted the Forgiveness of God toward us. We cannot lay hands on people and see them healed if we have not accepted the Healing Power of God in our own lives. The same is true with Deliverance. When we believe it is God Who has picked us up out of the pit and set our feet on solid ground, then we can minister that same Deliverance to others.

The next Benefit, loving kindness and tender mercies, is no different. Do you know that God loves you unconditionally? Do you understand that He will always treat you with kindness and that His Mercy endures forever? That means He never runs out of Love, Kindness or Mercy. Actually, God never runs out of anything! Hallelujah! He has an endless supply of everything Good.

The key to receiving more of God is to give more away. Jesus said, Give, and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:38) Many years ago, I learned this saying: The more you give, the more you will have to give. Over the years I have found this to be true. Trust me when I tell you that you cannot out give God.

Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He wants to be our first love and our only love. We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) Everything we give as a Christian is because we have first received it from Him. We forgive because we have been forgiven. We love others because He loves us. We are kind to our fellow man because God is kind toward us. We have mercy on people because He has Mercy on us.

While the Benefits of being a born again Christian are absolutely for us, they are all meant to be given away by us. Give and it SHALL be given unto you. This is a Promise of God, spoken by Jesus Christ to us. God does not break His Promises. God’s Promises are Spiritual Laws that we can stand on and trust implicitly. I must add that every Promise of God has a condition. The condition in this case is the condition or motive of our hearts. If we give because we want more for ourselves, we have not met the condition set forth by God. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. (James 4:3)

When we give out of a pure heart of love for God, His Kingdom and other people, God will reward us with more. Too many Christians today are takers and not givers. I say to you: Out of a pure heart of love, kindness and mercy, be a giver. It will come back to you ten fold. God said so.

Give and God will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

I give myself away,       Doreen
