Romans 12:3 For I say, through the Grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Yesterday, we discussed the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) and how we are to apply that lesson to our lives today. Our study revealed that absolutely everything we have has been given to us by God. Without Him, we are nothing. Without Him, we would have nothing. Without Him, we wouldn’t even exist.
We also learned that God loves His Kingdom and He wants us to do likewise. Everything we have been given is to be used to benefit the Kingdom of God. Every breath we take, word we speak, and move we make should somehow benefit and/or glorify the Kingdom of God for this is the purpose of our being.
In Romans 12:3 we read that God creates every human being with a measure of faith. God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. The Word of God tells us that it is God’s Will that every person be saved. Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the Truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)
Since it takes faith in Christ to be saved, every person must have enough faith to do so. This is why we are all created with a measure of faith. Therefore, faith should be added to our list of talents as it is a Gift of God.
Once again, this brings us back to this question: What are we doing with what God has given us? Faith requires an object because faith is that which we believe in. God gives us all faith but what are we placing our faith in? What is the object of our faith? That is the question that will determine if we are indeed being a good steward of the faith we have been given.
Let’s take this one step at a time.
-
Everything God gives us is to be used for His Glory and to benefit His Kingdom.
-
God gives every person a measure (a certain amount) of faith.
-
It is God’s Will that everyone be Saved.
-
Salvation and living a life pleasing to God is the ultimate goal in life.
-
The only way to be Saved is through faith in what Christ accomplished on the Cross.
-
Therefore, faith in Christ is the purpose for which we have been given a measure of faith.
-
Faith in Christ is the only acceptable object of our faith.
-
Faith in anything else is a misuse of the measure of faith we have been given by God.
You have been given a measure of faith. What are you doing with the faith you have been given? What is the object of your faith? If your ultimate goal in life is to please God and spend eternity in Heaven, you must place your faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross because it is there that He made this possible for you. Without faith it is impossible to please Him. (Hebrews 12:6)
Faith in Christ alone will…...….turn the tide………..in your life.
My faith is in Christ alone. Doreen
