Colossians 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: Which is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.

 

God has had a mystery from the beginning. This mystery is like a secret only known by God from generations. What could this mystery, or secret, be? The Apostle Paul wrote about this in his letter to the Colossians. The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His Saints. (Colossians 1:26)

 

Although God has kept this hidden for generations, He revealed it to His Saints. Who are His Saints? Every born-again believer in Jesus Christ is a Saint of God. To the Church of God that is in Corinth, to those Sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be Saints together with all those who in every place call upon the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours. (1 Corinthians 1:2) Paul also identified the Saints in his letter to the Romans. To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be Saints: (Romans 1:7)

 

God has had a secret that He kept hidden for thousands of years and now is going to reveal it to His Saints! That’s us! God wants to tell us His Secret. The revealing of this secret, or mystery, is all part of the New Covenant. Nothing could be more exciting than that!

 

So, what is the secret? We find it in the 27th Verse of the first Chapter of Colossians. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: Which is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.

 

God’s hidden mystery is that Christ is living in us and we have the Hope of Glory! Old Testament saints did not have this. They knew nothing about it. This is the frosting on the cake concerning the Benefits given to us by God when we place our faith in Christ and Him Crucified.

 

Christ is the new man we have been discussing for the past several days. Christ is incorruptible, indestructible, undefeatable, and eternal. The enemy has no power over Him. The revealed secret of God is that we have all this living within us because Christ is in us! We are the Temple of God. We are the Saints of God and Christ is alive in us! Read it again! To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: Which is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory. Hallelujah!
