Never Lose Heart

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Everywhere Paul went, he came under tremendous persecution and Corinth was no exception. We read in the 18th Chapter of the Book of Acts that the Jews, once again, brought Paul before the Roman Judgment Seat. And when Gallio was the Deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the Judgment Seat. (Acts 18:12)

The Jewish leaders came together behind closed doors and developed a case of insurrection against Paul. Insurrection simply means a well-thought-out plan against the government. However, in this case, the Jews made a big mistake in that their accusation was that Paul’s insurrection was not against Caesar, but against the Law of Moses. This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the Law. (Acts 18:13)

When we read this Passage in the original Greek, we do not find the word “fellow.” It simply says This persuades men….. What an insult to Paul! Their statement made him not even worthy of his name or even a pronoun. Their words made Paul out to be merely a thing that could talk. However, once again these men caught themselves in their own word trap when they admitted that the words he spoke had the ability to persuade men to worship Jesus.

Paul’s Message of the Cross of Christ was extremely persuasive because it was (and remains to be) the only Truth capable of saving a man’s soul, unlike all the philosophies the people had sat under at that time or continue to sit under today.

Paul was so sure of his Message that he never lost heart or quit speaking it. What an example he is to all of us today! We must never quit or grow tired. The Word of the Gospel of Christ must go out constantly around the world and it is our responsibility to do it! And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)

The Message of the Cross will…..…….turn the tide……….in this world.
