2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

 

The theme of the New Testament is “The New Creation.” The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians and said Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

 

These people were professing to be Christians but they were not living as such. Many of them had not become new creations. They were living just as they were prior to their “salvation.” Nothing had changed about their behavior. Although they gathered together with the other believers and had “church” they were not new creations.

 

It seems that these people knew about Jesus and believed He was the Son of God and that He went to the Cross of Calvary for their sins, but they were not living “IN Christ.” Nothing about them had changed except they had some new knowledge about Jesus and they now associated with others who also knew about Jesus.

 

Paul said if anyone is in Christ, This leads us to the fact that there are only two places for all people to be. We are either IN Christ or we not in Christ. Those of us who are IN Christ are a new creation. That means that we are not the way we used to be prior to being IN Christ. We are changed!

 

Salvation is a Creative Miracle performed by God in the life of everyone who gives their heart to Jesus and is willing to surrender all that they are and everything they have to Him and His Kingdom. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

 

Every person is Created by God and in His Image and with everything they need to fulfill His Plan and Purpose for their life. Sin draws people away from God and causes them to stray. People in this condition are called lost. All people are lost until they are Saved through their faith in Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross.

 

When a person hears the Gospel of Christ and truly does give their heart to Jesus a Creative Miracle takes place in them. They are born again; a new creation! This is the greatest Miracle! God wants every person on earth to be born again. It is His Will that everyone be IN Christ. The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

 

Are you a new creation IN Christ Jesus? Are you changed from the way you used to be? Has God performed this Creative Miracle in you? If not, today is your day to be born again and changed! This is the most exciting thing that can happen to a person. Say yes to Jesus today and be born again. You will be a completely new creation! Hallelujah!
