Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under Grace.
Yesterday we looked at six words that describe the Christian Life. They are Divine, Eternal, Victorious, Incorruptible, Indestructible, and Undefeatable.
When we experience Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and His Resurrection, the Holy Spirit moves inside us and begins to do His Transforming Work. Things about us begin to change. Our motives become different. We no longer put ourselves first. We see things differently. Our speech patterns change. We don’t do things that we used to do. We don’t want to do them because we want to live our lives pleasing to God.
The Life of Jesus now becomes our example. Although we will never be perfect as He was Perfect, we want to be. The Christian Life is all about what we want. The old man (prior to Salvation) wants to please himself. He does for himself and puts himself first. The new man (after Salvation) wants to please God and puts God and the Kingdom of God first.
This change first takes in the soul of a person which is their mind, will, and emotions. A soul is Saved by faith in Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10) When the soul is Saved, the spirit and body will follow. A Saved soul has the Life of Christ living in them through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11)
Jesus had a Divine Nature. He was 100% God while being 100% man at the same time. He had no sin nature but He did have free will. He could have chosen to quit and not go to the Cross but praise be to God He didn’t! When Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary He overcame sin, death, Hell, the grave, and Satan. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)
When we understand all that Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary we can begin to live the life He died for us to have. That life is Divine, Eternal, Victorious, Incorruptible, Indestructible, and Undefeatable! This is a description of the new creation and every one of us can live it! Hallelujah!
Faith in Christ Crucified will………..turn the tide ……….in your life!
Hallelujah! Doreen
