New Man Arise

Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Yesterday we touched on a subject that leaves some people baffled but if we just take a step back and look at ourselves through the lens of the Word of God we can see clearly that we have both the old man (the sinful, corrupt nature) and the new man (Righteous, Holy, and Divine Nature) living in us.

For the new man to flourish, the old man must die. The greatest thing our faith in Christ does for us is to kill the old man. Little by little, one part at a time, the old man must die for the new man to dominate. By the Mercy of God, the old man in us will die. The Apostle Paul wrote about this to the various churches in the region.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives I me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true Righteousness and Holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-23)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, everything has become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God. (Romans 12:2)

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the Right Hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3)

We know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. (Romans 6:6)

The ONLY way to be free from sin and the sin nature that rules and reigns in the old man, is to die to self. The ONLY way to do this is through faith in Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary. He died so we can die too. By the Mercy of God let the old man die.

Oh my! God wants to……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Let the new man arise!         Doreen
