Newness Of Life

Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the Will of your Father who is in Heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Although the Laws of the Old Covenant do not apply to us today, the Moral Law of God still stands. Jesus gave us Two Commandments to live by. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39)

Murder breaks every Commandment of God. Whether it be the original Ten Commandments of the Old Covenant, or the Two Commandments given to us by Jesus in the New Covenant, murder is a sin that God hates.

In the list of things that God hates (found in Proverbs 16) we find hands that shed innocent blood. My friends, abortion is murder. An unborn child is alive and although dependent on its mother for nourishment and protection, it is its own person, created by God for a Purpose.

Anyone who professes to be a born-again Christian cannot agree with or support abortion. That means we cannot support or defend those who do agree with this sin. Abortion is not an acceptable form of birth control. It is murder and the Word of God has a lot to say about what will happen to those who practice this.

Most abortions are the result of sexual immorality. Like murder, sexual immorality is listed as a sin that will result in the person spending eternity in Hell. But the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

Many times we have spoken of the Promises of God and how we can believe them and take God at His Word. The above Passage of Scripture is a Promise of God. Those who practice these sins WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN HELL if they do not repent. This means to be sincerely sorry for your sins and turn from those sins. We cannot continue in sin and expect God to overlook our actions.

Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary so we can be forgiven of our sin and set free from the bondage of sin in our lives. When we are born again, we are a new creation in Christ Jesus; because of the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross.

We are no longer that old man. We now hate what we used to love. We are totally changed by the Blood of Jesus! Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)

To walk in newness of life is to live a Righteous life and not practice sin. When we come to the understanding that we are no longer the “old man” we can put all that behind us and live as Christ would have us to live. He willingly gave His Life so we can walk in newness of life. We can stand on every Promise of God and we can be assured of our eternal destination in Heaven. Hallelujah!

Don’t wait another day. God wants to……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Born again, there’s really been a change in me!         Doreen
