1 Peter 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
The Morning Message yesterday generated an interesting response from some of you which needs to be addressed. The question was: If I walk in total faith and show no worry or concern about an issue, does that mean I don’t care?
The answer is, NO! When we walk in faith we have no reason to worry, be concerned, or afraid. We totally trust in the Power of God to handle the situation whatever it may be. Our family and friends may see this as not caring, but when the situation is over and God has resolved the problem once again, they will see the Power of Faith.
God cares for us. His Word tells us that we love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) Jesus said, Come to Me, all you who labor and are heaven laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
In the 6th Chapter of Matthew, Jesus spoke on the subject of worry. He tells us not to worry about our life; what we will eat, what we will wear or anything else for that matter. He also told us not to worry about tomorrow. This is a most powerful teaching because it shows us that God is far superior to Satan. Faith in Christ is all we need to overcome the fear in our lives.
At the end of Chapter 6 of Matthew, Jesus said: Therefore do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For after all these things the Gentiles (non-believers) seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:31-34)
There are many Scriptures that instruct us to walk in faith and not fear. Fear is actually unbelief. It is a lack of faith. The Word of God says, For we walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) It doesn’t matter how things appear. We are to place our full faith and trust in God and the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary where He defeated the power of the enemy.
Jesus said, I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) Fear is not a part of the Abundant Life Jesus died for us to have. When we operate in fear, we are actually saying that what Jesus did was not enough.
Jesus is enough. He defeated ALL POWER OF THE ENEMY on the Cross of Calvary. Therefore, there is no place for fear to operate in any way, shape, or form in the life of a believer.
Place your faith in Christ Crucified and God will….….turn the tide ……….in your life.
