Not Orphans

John 14:18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Jesus ministered on this earth for three and one half years. During that time, He taught and trained His Disciples and all those who chose to follow Him, listen and learn. When Jesus went to the Cross and subsequently to the Father, He had not finished training and teaching His Disciples.

His Sacrificial Work on the Cross was 100% complete, but His work in the lives of the people was far from finished. Up until the last day they were arguing about which of them would be the greatest.

Jesus told them that He would be leaving but He also told them that He would be sending them a Helper who would continue their education and guidance through life. This Helper is the Holy Spirit. These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:25-26)

Jesus had complete trust in the Holy Spirit. He believed that the Spirit of Truth would come and continue to teach and train the people. There was never a doubt in Jesus’ mind that the Holy Spirit would fail in any way. The Holy Spirit is God. He cannot fail or lead anyone astray. He will never teach a falsehood or counsel us to do anything that is not in full compliance with the Word of God. The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are all in total agreement about everything. They are One; the Trinity; the Three Persons of the Godhead.

Jesus told them that He would be leaving but that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to be with them. The Holy Spirit is Jesus’ replacement on earth. Jesus said, I will not leave you orphans. (John 14:18) An orphan is a person who has no help. They are unattended and pitied because they have no training or guidance. The Holy Spirit has been sent to comfort, teach, guide, lead, counsel, protect, and provide for God’s people. He will take care of you.

Anyone who is trying to live a Christian life without the Holy Spirit is living like an orphan. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you do not have to live like an orphan. The Holy Spirit is dwelling inside you and He is ready to help you in every way. Don’t discount Him or ask Him to leave. Why live like an orphan when you can live like a child of the Most High God?

Place your full faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary and accept everything the Holy Spirit has for you. Jesus paid the price for your Redemption. The Holy Spirit will be your Helper through this life. Hallelujah!

God wants to……….turn the tide……..in your life!

Thank you Lord!         Doreen
