Exodus 20:7 You shall not misuse the Name of the Lord your God.
Peter said, And His Name through faith in His Name has made this man strong. (Acts 3:16) Faith in the Name of Jesus unleashes all Power of God to perform Miracles, Signs, and Wonders. Faith in His Name brings about real change in people. Nothing else in this world has this Power.
All the self-help books and groups in the world will not deliver someone from the bondage of sin. Although they mean well, they have no real power over the enemy. Only the Name of Jesus carries this Power. This is why Jesus instructed us to pray in His Name.
To pray in the Name of Jesus is far more than just a tag line at the end of the prayer. Rather, it means to place your faith in what Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary and to pray will full confidence that God will hear and answer your prayer according to His Will.
It is the Will of God that we are saved, healed, and delivered from all sin and the effects of sin in our lives. Jesus is the Deliverer. He went to the Cross so we can know this Deliverance but it takes faith on our part to receive it.
To speak the Name of Jesus in faith is an expression of His Purpose and His Ability. The Name of Jesus (spoken in faith) will drive out all demonic spirits, fallen Angels, and Satan himself. Paul said, Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
Demons and evil spirits must bow to the Name of Jesus because, on the Cross, Jesus defeated all their power. Paul wrote: And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15) This is to say that Jesus exposed Satan and all his evil minions putting them to shame.
It is as if He drug them to the public square and put them in stocks for everyone to see that they are powerless. Jesus went into Satan’s house, defeated all of them, and spoiled his house. Jesus said, Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. (Matthew 12:29) Jesus entered the strong man’s house, plundered his house, and bound up his power.
Our battle is with the powers of darkness; Satan and his demonic spirits. When we understand what Jesus accomplished on the Cross, Satan and his minions become nothing more than little bugs under our feet! Satan is still working to destroy this world but he doesn’t stand a chance against believers who understand and place their faith in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross.
This faith will……..….…….turn the tide
Not today Satan. Not any day! Doreen
