Colossians 2:14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross.

 

Only faith in the shed Blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross can bring true Peace to the heart of people. We are all sinners and we all have a past. The Word of God calls this “the old man.” As born again Christians, we are a new creation IN Christ Jesus. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) There is no way for a person to become a new creation outside of Christ. It is not possible. If it were, Jesus would not have had to go to the Cross.

 

In ministry we find many born again believers in total bondage of their past. There is something in their past that holds them captive. It is usually some sin that they just can’t seem to let go of or a traumatic experience and it torments them day and night. This happens mostly at night because when they lay down to go to sleep this “thing” comes back and haunts them again robbing them of their Peace.

 

If you struggle with something in your past and it torments you, please know that Jesus nailed it to the Cross. Whatever it is, He took it with Him to the Cross. He did this so you can be set free from the bondage of guilt and shame. Jesus spoke to this when He said, The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has Anointed Me To preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captive and recovery of sight to the blind, and to set at liberty those who are oppressed; (Luke 4:18)

 

The above Passage of Scripture describes God’s Plan and Purpose for the thirty-three years Jesus lived on this earth as a man. This was the Ministry of Jesus; it’s what His Father Anointed Him to do, and He did it while He walked this earth.

 

All the Miracles, Signs and Wonders Jesus performed as a man were to prove to the world that He was indeed the Son of God; the Messiah spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah. Jesus accomplished that. He proved His identity and then, He suffered and died on the Cross to seal the deal. God required perfect Blood to be shed as the Sacrifice for sin and Jesus had that Perfect Blood. In obedience to His Father in Heaven, He shed His Blood on the Cross.

 

The Blood of Jesus took away the Power of Satan in our lives. When we place our faith in His shed Blood and understand that whatever has happened in the past; that thing that torments us and robs us of our sleep has been bought and paid for, we will enter into that Perfect Peace that passes understanding and be able to rest in Him. Jesus said, Come unto Me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

 

Faith in Jesus will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
