2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies even denying the Lord Who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

 

Since the time of the early Church, there have been false prophets and false teachers. In the 15th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we read that some men came to Antioch from Jerusalem to preach a false doctrine to the people. It is believed that this happened in the year 51 A.D. which was only 18 years after the Crucifixion of Christ! And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” (Acts 15:1)

 

You may be asking what this has to do with us today. It has everything to do with us today because the very same thing is happening in the modern Church. There are whole denominations that believe and teach that if you are not baptized in water, you are not saved. This is the exact same thing as those men who came to Antioch and taught that one must be circumcised according to the custom of Moses to be saved.

 

To be Saved is to be Redeemed in the Eyes of God the Father. Due to sin, we are separated from Him but when Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary, He bridged the gap between man and God. He was (and is) the ONLY Way to the Father in Heaven. No one will make Heaven their home if they do not believe in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. It’s not hard to believe. It does not take physical strength or great intellectual ability. Anyone with a sound mind has the ability to believe in something and that is all God requires for a person to be Saved. All it takes is Faith in Jesus Christ. That’s it!

 

Anyone who teaches anything else is a false teacher. Read the Word of God for yourself. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the Power of God to Salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Romans 1:16) For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Everlasting Life. (John 3:16) For by Grace you have been Saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the Gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

 

Faith in Christ Crucified is all it takes to be Saved. Don’t let anyone tell you anything different. God made it simple because it is His Will that all be Saved. He has made a place in Heaven for every human being. He made a place, especially for you; a beautiful place in Heaven with Him. Your place awaits your arrival. Will you be going? Believe in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross and you will! Hallelujah!
