Once And For All

Hebrews 10:10 By that will we have been Sanctified through the offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Our study through the Book of Acts has brought us to the place where Cornelius was about to be the first Gentile to be Saved. God was orchestrating a Divine Appointment and preparing those involved. An Angel of the Lord appeared to Cornelius and brought him a message. Cornelius heard the message and obeyed. Simultaneously, God spoke to Peter through a Vision that would go against everything God’s people had ever known.

Under the Old Covenant, all Gentiles were considered to be unclean. Jews were not to associate with them in any way, shape, or form. In the same way, certain animals were unclean and could not be eaten or even touched.

However, when Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary, He shed His Blood for ALL people; Jews and Gentiles alike. Gentiles everywhere would no longer be considered unclean. This was absolutely unheard of, but it was true and the Vision God gave Peter showed him this. Later, the Apostle Paul would write on this subject. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; (Romans 6:10) for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. (Hebrews 7:27) By that will we have been Sanctified through the offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10)

Peter’s Vision: He saw Heaven opened and a certain vessel descending upon him as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth. In it were all manner of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. (Acts 10:11-12) The great sheet represented the Blood of Jesus that was shed for the sins of the entire world. The four corners represented the four corners of the earth; all of it; everywhere. No corner of the entire earth was not included. Everyone, everywhere who would choose to believe in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross, could be Saved. In the great sheet, Peter saw all manner of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. All manner of animals represented all manner of people and there were none unclean any longer. The sins of every person on earth had been paid for by the shed Blood of Christ. Everyone was now eligible for Salvation! Hallelujah!

The New Covenant will still…...….turn the tide……….in the lives of all people today.

So grateful for the shed Blood of Christ,         Doreen
