Once Saved Always Saved

Colossians 1:23 If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the Hope of the Gospel which you heard,

Once saved, always saved, is probably the single most destructive false doctrine being preached today. There are literally millions of people who believe they are truly saved and born again because, at some time in their lives, they repeated a prayer and perhaps were dunked in a tub of water.

Salvation comes by believing (faith) that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Most High God and that He died on the Cross of Calvary to atone for your sins. True Salvation will result in change in a person’s life. It is impossible for a person to be truly Saved and born again and everything remain the same as they were before. Salvation is a relationship with Christ Jesus and declaring Him to be the Lord of your life. That means that you love Him and WANT to live your life in accordance with His Teachings.

To do this you must understand and BELIEVE that everything that caused you to be the sinner you once were, has been nailed to the Cross of Calvary by Jesus and you are no longer that person. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (1 Corinthians 5:17)

No matter what some pastors and Sunday School teachers have told you, if you are not a new creation, changed from the person you used to be, you are not truly saved and born again. This is what it means to be born again. You cannot be born again and be the same old person. Jesus said you must be born again. (John 3:7)

Jesus went to the Cross so you can be a new person; born again, changed, a new creation reconciled in the Eyes of God! Paul explained this in his letter to the Colossians. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the Body of His Flesh through Death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His Sight—IF indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the Hope of the Gospel which you heard. (Colossians 1:21-23)

Jesus will present you holy and blameless to God the Father IF YOU INDEED CONTINUE IN THE FAITH! That means to remain grounded and steadfast and not move away from the Gospel of Christ.

Obviously, this indicates that it is possible to move away from your faith in Christ. It is possible to not remain grounded and steadfast in your faith in the Gospel of Christ. Do not be sucked into the false doctrine of “once saved, always saved.” Yes, no one can rob you of your faith and separate you from Christ, but you can choose to turn away from Him yourself and when you do, you have lost your Salvation.

Will God welcome you back? Yes, He will when you sincerely repent and seek Him with all your heart. Jesus died on the Cross so you could be forgiven and set free from sin. If you believe that, walk in that faith every day; continue in that faith and…………….

The Holy Spirit will…..…….turn the tide………..in your life.

Hallelujah!         Doreen
