Only God Knows

Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.”

While studying the Book of Acts, the Holy Spirit revealed something to me that I believe will be of interest to you. It has to do with God being omniscient. This means that God is all-knowing about everything from the beginning to the end.

The great Prophet spoke of this. Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” Isaiah 46:9-10)

In the 4th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we read that the people of the First Church came together and pooled their abilities and resources because the government (which was the synagogue at the time) excommunicated them because they professed their faith in Christ. Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common……..Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the Apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. (Acts 4:32; 34-35)

As we stated in the Morning Message yesterday, they did this voluntarily. Their faith in Christ and their desire to build the Kingdom of God as Jesus had commanded them, outweighed everything else. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

God Blessed them and protected them because they had come together in faith and in one accord. What they didn’t know was that He was also preparing them for what was soon to come. We began this Morning Message by declaring that God is omniscient; all-knowing everything from the beginning of time to the end. He knew what was coming and He was gathering His people together so they could withstand what was about to happen.

You see, some 27 years later, Rome completely destroyed Jerusalem and most of Israel. Everything that had value at the time became worthless. In fact, the Romans confiscated everything they did not destroy. The Lord encouraged the believers to all band together and pool their resources. Having done this, they were prepared when trouble came. Is this what God is doing today as He gathers His people together and commands them to be separate from the world? Could be. Does He know what is going to happen? Yes, He does.

Is this why His Word says, Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has Righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion had the Light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the Temple of God with idols? For you are the Temple of the Living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters,” Says the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

We would be wise to hear the Word of the Lord God Almighty and obey what it says. We don’t know what lies ahead but He does. Heed the Word of God.

God is about to…...….turn the tide
