Isaiah 30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

Our Benefit Package just keeps growing and gets better and better with every passing day. God has so much for us, I doubt anyone could ever list it all. For the past couple of days we have been discussing the Benefit of Guidance.

I suppose this is a Benefit that could be discussed every day for a year or more but before we move on, I  feel the need to address one more very important aspect of this Benefit.  We must never lose sight of the fact that most of God’s Promises come with conditions. His Benefits are accompanied by provisions and the Authority He bestows upon us requires responsibility on our part.

The Benefit of Guidance is accompanied by the provision of obedience. The word Guidance means to guide; give direction; show the right way. God will not drag us along behind Him or push us down the narrow road. He will, however, open and close doors, show us the right way and guide us along.

We have a part to play in receiving the Benefit of Guidance. Our part is to be obedient to His directions. The Benefit of Guidance is there waiting for us to take it. It’s very much like good advice. We can give it to someone but it won’t help them until they take it and apply it to their life.

One of my favorite Passages of Scripture is Isaiah 30:21: Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

God communicates with us Spirit to spirit. The Holy Spirit will speak to our hearts and give us Divine Guidance because He loves us and wants the very best for us. God does not set us up for failure. He will never lead us down the wrong path just to see what will happen.

However, God does open doors of opportunity for us. The great Apostle Paul had a tremendous ministry and he planted churches everywhere he went. The Corinthians were excited about him coming to see them but Paul was obedient to the Guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is what he wrote to them: Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia). And it may be that I will remain, or even spend the winter with you, that you may send me on my journey, wherever I go. For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits. But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great and effective door has opened to me, (1 Corinthians 16:5-9)

Paul recognized that God had opened a door for him and although he wanted to go to Corinth by way of Macedonia, he followed the Divine Guidance and proceeded through the door that had been opened to him going instead to Ephesus.

Sometimes (as in my case) God has to allow us to be totally broken before we will see the open door before us and proceed through it. But even then, while we may be lying in a heap on the floor, totally shattered with an open door right in front of us, it is our choice to go through it or not.

The Benefit of Divine Guidance must be answered with obedience. Listen for the Voice of God. Watch for the open doors. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way! God will never lead you astray.

Obedience to His Guidance will……….turn the tide……..in your life.
