Order For Ministry

Acts 19:10-11 And this continued by the space of two years, so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the Word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. And God wrought special Miracles by the hands of Paul.

It is believed that Paul’s Evangelistic visit to Ephesus began in the year 52 A.D. This is recorded by Luke in the Book of Acts. Paul stayed in Ephesus quite a long time and preached the Gospel to anyone who would listen. He preached in the synagogue, in private homes, and in the streets. His mission was to preach the Gospel, and he did.

In the 19th Chapter of Acts we read And this continued by the space of two years, so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the Word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. And God wrought special Miracles by the hands of Paul. (Acts 19:10-11) First, Paul preached the Word of the Lord Jesus, then God performed Miracles by his hands.

God has a specific order for everything. The preaching of the Gospel of Christ must always be first. This is the Order laid down by the Holy Spirit in regard to Ministry. It is the preaching of the Words of Jesus that brings about belief in the hearts of people.

We know that the Word has always existed. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:1-3) These words by John clearly state that the Word was and has always been a Person; a part of the Trinity Who has always been in existence.

We also know that the Person of Jesus IS the Word. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14) This means that the Person of the Word took on human form and walked this earth as a man; the man Christ Jesus.

As we read the Four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) we find that Jesus (the Man) performed many Miracles. Remember, Jesus, the Man, was still the Word but in human form. Therefore, it was actually the Word that performed the Miracles. We cannot separate Jesus from the Word because He IS the Word!

With this in mind let’s look at Acts 19:10-11 once again. And this continued by the space of two years, so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the Word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. And God wrought special Miracles by the hands of Paul. Paul actually preached to the people the Word of the Lord Jesus. THEN great Miracles were performed by the hands of Paul!

Paul did not stand before the people and profess to be some great Miracle worker as some do today. He went preaching the Word of the Lord and the Miracles just happened after. That, my friends, is God’s Order for a Ministry Service. Preach the Word of the Lord and the Holy Spirit will take over and do things we don’t even think possible! Hallelujah!

The Word of the Lord Jesus will……….turn the tide……….in this world!

Thank you Lord for the Word,       Doreen
